Prague Spring International Music Festival

72nd Prague Spring International Music Festival May 12- Jun 6, 2017

 
The Prague Spring International Music Festival is a permanent showcase for outstanding performing artists, symphony orchestras and chamber music ensembles of the world. It belongs to the biggest music show in the Czech Republic and is famed throught the world. Most of the concerts take place in the Rudolfinum concert hall, a venerable Neo-renaissance building with an excellent auditorium, situated on the bank of the Vltava River.
 
The grandiose opening night of the festival at the Municipal House (Obecní Dům) starts traditionally with a performance of Bedřich Smetana's My Country (Má Vlast), a cycle of symphonic poems (Bedřich Smetana was born just on the 12th of May). This year the opening is performed by Wiener Philharmoniker with conductor Daniel Barenboim.
